Pas Géométrique
The Pas Géométriques form a narrow belt, theoretically 81.21 metres (250 French feet) in width, all around the coast and are State-owned. There are several cases where the width is less than 81.21 metres or does not exist at all. 14 1.6 The total area of Pas Géométriques is about 2,110 hectares.
Most have undergone a change in land use and are now leased for bungalow and hotel sites. Proclaimed and unproclaimed public beaches occupy a fairly large area around the island. The area of Pas Géométriques under the control of the Forestry Service was only 606 hectares at the end of the year under review.
